Fashion Exposed and Acclaim are getting together to hold the first industry show of it’s kind in Australia – Buffet. Not a traditional trade show in the sense of the word, being open to the public, it will be a good opportunity to establish something here in Aus that can be built on.

We headed down to the FE event here in Sydney a few months back and while it wasn’t really our cup of tea, the event was extremely well run and had a good turn out so I have no doubt Buffet will be similarly professionally handled.

acclaim features

Melbourne based Acclaim magazine has a couple of features online from Mishka and Estevan Oriol. Both brands (EO under the UP umbrella) have carved out a niche by creating an asethetic different to what is currently out there in the market place, and by not following trends.

3SIXTEEN RANKED #4 FOR SPRING COLLECTIONS – COMPLEX MAG

Complex Mag got together recently with SlamXHype to discuss the industrys top performers for Spring. 3sixteen came in at #4 on Complex’s list. Congrats guys.

upper playground presents shinganist

The September drop for UP is arguably their strongest collection since moving to the monthly drops. Japanese artist Usugrow is a key feature in this range and the news that UP is introducing the Shinganist range has been well received. The line will operate in a similar capactiy to their other subs Twelve Grain, SuperFishal, Estevan Oriol and 5024SF.

Derived from the Japanese word “Shingan,” (meaning mind’s eye), the line represents those people who create by seeing things in their mind’s eye and are not bothered or influenced by things around them. Inspired by underground Japanese lifestyle, Shinganist will feature the art of Usugrow, as well as guest artists. UP and Usugrow view the line as a vehicle to introduce a new generation of Japanese artists to the world. Given the success of the previous Usugrow designs, we’re really excited about the prospect of seeing more from him and his camp.
